Aim

The Graduate Diploma in Real Estate consists of eight courses (two semester equivalent) and provides a broad knowledge foundation for graduates to work effectively in real estate, property, urban development and construction environments. In this way the graduate diploma enables graduates and practitioners to either complement their continuing employment or to accelerate their entry into a new professional career.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Real Estate will gain knowledge and skills vital to the practice of the field including being equipped to:

  • Understand the different components of the real estate market including the institutional, legal, economic and planning framework.
  • Explain the interrelationship between key process and stakeholders in real estate.
  • Approach real estate as an investment asset including the risk and reward implications of different investment decisions.
  • Distinguish various stages of the real estate development process.
  • Prepare a feasibility study for development schemes taking into account the significant variables.
  • Value real estate assets and prepare valuation reports.
  • Develop an effective marketing strategy to enhance viability and profitability of real estate projects.
